Comfortable sandals are a blessing, my "walking with Jesus" friend. And you know what? When we are walking in the Light of the teachings of Jesus, we have comfort in our soul! What will Jesus teach us next? We are in Matthew 18:11-14. Jesus said, "The Son of Man [ that is what Jesus called himself] is come to save that which was lost. What do YOU think? If a man has an hundred sheep, and one of them is gone astray, doesn't he leave the 99, and go into the mountains, and seek the one which is gone astray? And if he FINDS it, truly I say to you, he rejoices more over one that has been rescued, than over the 99 that did not go astray. In the same way, it is not the will of your Father in Heaven, that any one of these little ones should perish/should be lost." Jesus cares about those who have gone astray. He seeks to rescue them. Clearly, he is teaching that we R to be concerned for those who go astray. And we are to seek to rescue those who have lost their way...a...

So glad you are here this morning, my "walking with Jesus" friend. Money from the mouth of a fish? Who can make such a thing happen? Right! God can! For His Son. He may not do THAT for you/for me, but He is able to do:" Exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to [watch THIS] according to the power that works [God causes to be] IN us."[ when we are walking with Him.] (Ephesians 3:20)So, the disciples came to Jesus asking:'Who is the greatest in Heaven?' And Jesus called a little child to him, and set the child in the midst of then. And said, truly I say to you, unless you be converted and become as little children, you shall not enter the Kingdom of Heaven. Whosoever therefore shall humble himself as this little child, that one is greatest in the Kingdom of Heaven. And who ever shall receive one such little child in my name, receives me. But, whoever shall offend one of these little ones who BELIEVE in me, it were better for him that...

Are you going make noise today? my "walking with Jesus" friend. Psalm 100 tells us:" Make a JOYFUL NOISE unto the Lord, all people. Serve the Lord with gladness. Come before His Presence with singing. Know that the Lord, He is God. It is He who has made us and not we ourselves. Enter into His gates with Thanksgiving and into His courts with praise. Be thankful unto Him and bless His Name. For the Lord is good. His mercy is everlasting and His truth endures to all generations." Now, there is a great set of instructions for the say, especially for the Lord's Day, my friend. To respond to this text message, reply to this email or visit Google Voice. We are back in Capernaum on the north shore of the Sea of Galilee, my "walking with Jesus friend. Here comes Jesus with His disciples. Oh my, the temple tax collectors are talking to the disciple named Peter. (The temple is the House of worship for the Jewish people. It's is theirs. WE wonder why the Jewish people are taxing THEIR OWN people for their place of worship.) "Doesn't your teacher pay the temple tax? they ask Peter. Yes, he does, replied Peter. Then, in the house, where Jesus asked:'Peter, what do you think? Do kings tax THEIR OWN people or the people they have conquered? Peter replied, 'They tax the people they have conquered. 'Well then,' said Jesus, 'Their own people should not be taxed. However, so that the temple tax collectors won't make a big deal about it, Peter, go down to the lake. Cast a line. Open the mouth of the first fish you catch. You will find a large silver coin. Take it and pay the tax for both of us." Is Jes...

Good Morning, my "walking with Jesus friend. Think fast! What is something everyone uses all day long? Right! All day long we all use: WORDS. In terms of prophecy, Jesus has strong to say about words...You probably remember what He said from our "walk" through the 12th chapter of Matthew: " A GOOD man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good things: and an evil man out of his evil treasure brings forth evil things [ like our expression'garbage in, garbage out]. *But I say to you [and here is the prophecy] that EVERY idle word that men shall speak, they SHALL give account thereof in the Day of Judgement.* For by your WORDS you shall be justified, or by your WORDS you shall be condemned." God hears every WORD we say. Know what it says about the tongue in the Bible book of James? "The tongue is small, but it can cause great trouble, ...with our words, we bless God. And with our words we curse men, men who are made in the image of God. Out...

And the King will answer and say to them, Assuredly I say unto you, inasmuch as you did it unto the least of these My brethren, you did it unto Me. Then, He will also say to those on the left hand:' Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels. For I was hungry and thirsty and you gave me nothing, a stranger and you did not take me in or visit me when sick or in prison...And these will go away into everlasting punishment, BUT the righteous to EVERLASTING LIFE."( Matthew 25:31-46) Our choices have eternal consequencies. Shall we consider them very carefully? YOUR ACCOUNT HELP CENTER HELP FORUM This email was sent to you because you indicated that you'd like to receive email notifications for text messages. You and I have been in a classroom, my "walking with Jesus" friend. Standards are set by the teacher or professor, checked on and enforced, judged to be acceptable OR unacceptable, right? Well, God is "King of all the earth..."(Psalm 47:7). He made man and has declared His standards for our conduct. Yes,He will judge our choices and actions. Jesus Christ, the only Son of God prophesied: "... The Son of Man will sit on the throne of his glory. All nations will be gathered before Him, and He will separate them one from another...He will set the sheep on His right hand, but the goats on the left. Then the King will say to those on His right hand,'Come, you blesseded of my Father, inherit the kingdom prepared for you from the foundation of the world.: for I was hungry and you gave me food, I was thirsty and you gave me to drink, I was a stranger and you took me in, naked and you clothed me, sick and you visited me, in prison and you came to me. Then the righ...

Shall we pretend that it's Christmas time and there's a Christmas quiz. Ok, my "walking with Jesus" friend, here's the first question: Can you name the town where Jesus was born? Second question: Was there a prophecy about where he would be born? If yes, who declared the prophecy, and how long before Jesus was born?Answers: Born in Bethlehem. Yes, there was a prophecy about where he would be born. The prophet Micah, in about 730BC, under the inspiration of the Holy Spirit of God, wrote:" But you, Bethlehem, although you are little among the clans of Judah, yet, out of you shall come the One for Me, who is to be Ruler in Israel. Whose existence has been from of old, from everlasting."(Micah 5:2) Seven hundred years before Jesus was born, through the prophet Micah, it was prophesied that the One God would send would be born in Bethlehem. And He WAS! The prophecy came true. We can depend on all the prophecies of God (some say there are 1,000, of which 500,...

Good Morning, my "walking with Jesus" friend. Ready for a question? Can YOU tell what is going to happen tomorrow? or a year from now? Our honest answer has to be:"No." But, the Bible reveals that GOD knows what the future holds. Scholars tell us that 28% of the Bible is prophecy, telling us what WILL hapoen in the future. Hiw wonderful, helpful and merciful. Knowing what will happen enables us to prepare/ to be ready. Like being ready for an exam. In Matthew 17:22-23, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, Of Almighty God, who knows the future, tells his disciples: "The Son of Man (that's'what Jesus often calls himself) is going to be betrayed into the hands of sinful men, into the hands of his enemies. He will be killed. But, on the third day he will be raised from the dead." And the disciples were filled with grief." Don't you think we would have been sad too? But wait, through GOD, there WILL be a "happy ending." Jesus will be rais...

Oh good, you are early, my "walking with Jesus" friend. Let's join the crowd gathered around Jesus. Oh my, there's a man kneeling in front of the Master. What is he saying? "Lord, have mercy on my son: for he is a lunatic, and very troubled. Often he falls into the fire, and often into the water.*I brought him to your disciples, but they could not cure him." ( WHAT is Jesus going to say to THAT? What would you say? ) Here is Jesus' sharp response: "'O faithless and perverse generation, how long am I going to be with you? How long do I have to put up with your lack of faith? Bring ME the boy.' * They brought him. Jesus rebuked the devil; and the devil departed out of him: the child was cured that very hour." The disciples asked Jesus why they were unable to cast out that devil. *"Jesus told them:'Because of your unbelief. Listen, if you have REAL faith, even only as much as a grain of mustard seed, you will be able to say to th...

Now, my "walking with Jesus" friend, guess what: the Word of God that is "quick and powerful and sharper than any two-edged sword," THAT Word IS our Bible! And, you know what else? God says that we are to honor His Word, EVEN MORE than we honor His name. ( Psalm 138:2) Wow! As I tell my Sunday School/Crown Street children, the Bible is the Holy Word of God. Read it every day. Memorize its wisdom. Keep it in a safe place. Never put anything on top of it. And when you read it, ask God:" Teach me, O Lord...and "Give me understanding," and "Make me go in the way of Your Commandments"...and Lord, "Let my heart hear Your Word, " and also:" Quicken/make me alive in Your righteousness." ( Psalm 119:33-40) and then, the Apostle Paul says: "Choose to let the Word of Christ dwell in you RICHLY in all wisdom..."(Colossians 3:12) Strong counsel for straight living in the Way of the Lord. We rejoice to know THAT is what the ...

I love you, Bill, Madhvi, Aaron and Sharon. Great day! The hibiscus plant has produced another perfect, bright red blossom! AND has twelve! buds! Now, we need the weather to stay warm and the bugs to go away, while we hope for more blossoms. Please know that your thoughtful gift continues to be a source of great DELIGHT. It has grown broader and taller with many new leaves. I have contacted Costa Farms to say how well it is doing here in southern Idaho, and to ask if I need to bring it in for the winter. Anyway, continuing thank yous for your gift. And continuing prayers for your health and safety. Loveyou, Mom/GrandmaEllen To respond to this text message, reply to this email or visit Google Voice. What is: "Quick and powerful, sharper than a two-edged sword"? What also gives "light unto my feet? The entrance of what? gives understanding? And what words are tested and found to be true? Have your thinking cap on, my 'walking with Jesus" friend? Yes, the answer to each of those questions is: The Word of God. So, it's a good thing that we choose to start every morning with something from the Word of God. In fact, the Holy Spirit directed Paul, the Apostle, to write to the young preacher declaring four major benefits of the Word of God. "...it is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction and for instruction in righteousness."( 2 Timothy 3:16) "How shall a young man [or any person] CLEANSE/ correct his way/ get on the RIGHT path, AND STAY on the right path?" asks Psalm 119:11. Here is the clear and effective answer: " Get on the right path by paying attention to the instructions in the Word of God, and STAY there by keep...

Jesus Christ is the Son of the Living God, my "walking with Jesus" friend. God wonderfully reveals and confirms this to us in many ways. One way is through the Bible record . The exciting report in Matthew 17:1-9, gets our attention today. As we read the account, let's imagine that we were there, ok? " After six days, Jesus took Peter, James, and John his brother up into a high mountain, and was transfigured/ changed in appearance, right before them, so that his face shone like the sun, and his clothing was white as the light. And, behold the ancient prophets Moses and Isaiah appeared, talking to Jesus...and behold a bright cloud overshadowed them: and a voice spoke saying:'This is My Beloved Son, in whom I am well-pleased, hear him.' "(How would you and I react to hearing the majestic And powerful voice of the Lord?) " And when the disciples heard it, they fell on their faces and were very frightened. But Jesus came, and touched them, and said, g...

Awesome respect for the Lord God Almighty, Creator of Heaven and Earth gave special strength to King David of old. Please, come with me my "walking with Jesus" friend, to Psalm 16, and we will "see," and learn from the attitude of the king toward the Lord: "Preserve me, O God, for I put my trust in You. * O my soul, you have said unto the God of Heaven, You are my Lord...all my worship is to You only...I will bless the Lord, He has given me sound advice...I have set the LORD, ALWAYS, before me. Because He is at my right hand I shall not be moved. Therefore, my heart is glad, my glory rejoices and I rest in HOPE. You will not leave my soul in hell; neither will You allow Your Holy One to see corruption. You will show me the path of Life, In Your Presence is Fulness of JOY, at Your right hand there are pleasures forevermore." Confidence in the LORD creates victory in life. Please, may I ask you, my "walking with Jesus" friend, do you ever struggle with choices and conflicting emotions? You know, there's a lot to think about, along those lines, in what Jesus says next, in Matthew 16:24-27. Speaking to his disciples, < and to us, also, I think >Jesus says, "If anyone desires to come after Me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross and follow Me. * For who ever desires to save his life, will loose it, and whoever looses his life for my sake will find it. *For what shall it profit a man if he gain the whole world, and lose his own soul? * For the Son of Man will come in the glory of his Father, with his angels, and THEN he will reward each according to his works." Are we living for Jesus, walking His Way, building His Kingdom with righteous choices and well-controlled emotions?May the Lord help us make choices so that we can answer: "Yes." My "walking with Jesus" friend, please, let me ask you a question: Is it helpful to us when a friend tells us in advance what is going to go on/ what is going to happen? I think it is. We can prepare ourselves. In Matthew 16:21, we read:" Jesus began to show his disciples how that he must go unto Jerusalem, and suffer many things at the hands of the elders and chief priests and scribes, and be put to death, and be raised the third day." How would you and I feel to hear Jesus say all that? Well, Jesus' disciple Peter got all upset. He took Jesus aside and told him not to let those things happen! What was Jesus' reaction to Peter? Jesus sharply scolded Peter!! Jesus even said to Peter:" Get you behind me, Satan: you have offended me, Peter, you are not looking at what God is doing, instead, you are concerned about what men are doing." Jesus was telling Peter: I am following the mighty plan GOD has for Me. You are wrong, Peter, to tell me not to do ...

Has anyone ever said to you:" Now don't tell anyone...."? Well, my "walking with Jesus" friend, you remember that Peter boldly declared to Jesus: " You ARE the Christ, the Son of the living God."(Matthew 16:16) And Jesus affirmed that statement by saying that God had revealed that to Peter. Well, now "Jesus commanded his disciples that they should NOT tell anyone that he was Jesus, The Christ."(Matthew 16:20) For many generations the Jewish people had believed in and looked for The Christ, the Messiah, the Rescuer God promised to send. Now, in Jesus of Nazareth, God had kept His promise and sent The Christ, whose teachings from the Lord have the power to set things right between God and man. "God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto Himself, not charging men's sins to them; but offering forgiveness..."( 2 Corinthians 5:19) Why did Jesus command the disciples NOT to tell anyone? Could it be because each of us must make the ...

How many keys do you carry around with you, my "walking with Jesus" friend? Each key gives access to something in particular. There's the house key, the car key, the mail box key...But, there are also invisible "keys." For example, someone may have taught you: "Hearts, like doors, open with ease to very, very simple KEYS, and two of these are:" Thank You" and: " If you Please." Jesus talks about invisible keys in Matthew 16:19. He has just told Peter (whose name meabs: rock) "You are Peter. And on this ROCK I will build MY church, and the gates of he'll shall not prevail against it." Now, Jesus says:" And I will give you the KEYS of the Kingdom of Heaven, and whatever you bind(declare to be improper and unlawful) on earth, must be what is already bound in heaven; and whatever you loose (declare lawful) on earth, must be what is already loosed (declared lawful) in heaven." Good Morning, my "walking with Jesus" friend.Moving into Matthew 16:13-18, Jesus and his disciples are in Caesarea Philippi. " He asked his disciples, 'Who do people say that I am?' *And they told him, 'Some say you are John the Baptist: some say you are Isaiah or Jeremiah or one of the other prophets.'* And Jesus said to them: ' But who do YOU say that I am?' [ Have YOU figured it out?] * And Simon Peter answered:' You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.' Jesus affirmed Simon Peter's answer by saying:" Bless you, Simon Peter: for flesh and blood have not revealed this to you, God, my Father in Heaven, has revealed this to you. And I say unto you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my church; and the gates of hell shall not prevail against it.'
