Now that we clearly understand what God, through His Word, has to say about idols, we will move on into chapter 8 of 1Corinthians. Hi, my "walking with Jesus" friend. In ancient Corinth, the people who worshipped idols gave sacrifices. If meat, vegetables, fruit and grain to their idols, thinking to please that idol and gain favor. ( Yes, that defies logic. A silver, gold or wooden idol made by man has zero power...) Anyway, here is what Paul wrote:" Now let's talk about food that has been offered as a sacrifice to idols. You think that everyone should agree with what you think is your perfect knowledge. While knowledge may make us feel important, it is LOVE for each other that really builds up the church. Anyone who claims to know all the answers doesn't really know very much. But, the person who loves God and others, is the one to whom God shows favor. So now, what about it? Should we
eat meat that has been offered as sacrifice to idols? " If what we do may cause another brother in Jesus to stumble, we should not do that thing, says Paul. Do we govern our lives by that principle?
