Apparently the Believers in Corinth had sent questions about marriage to Paul, because, in chapter 7, he discusses a number of things about marriage. "Now, about the questions you asked in your letter. Yes, it is good to live a celebate life. But, because people tend to drift into lustful behavior that does not please God, it is best for every man to have his own wife, and every woman to have her own husband. The husband and wife belong to each other, and should always be available to each other, so that loyalty is preserved. ..To those who are not married and to widows, I say, it is better to remain unmarried, as I am, writes Paul. But if a person can not control themselves, they should go ahead and marry, rather than live a lustful lifestyle. Now, for those who are married, I have a command that comes not from me but from the Lord. A wife must not leave her husband. But, if she does
leave him, let her remain single, or else return to her husband."(1 Corinthians 7:3-10)To live a life pleasing to the Lord, clearly, we are wise to follow the counsel of the LORD, my friend. And when/ or if we fail, let us ask forgiveness and make a fresh start.
