We generally appreciate someone who will "tell it like it is." Well, my "walking with Jesus" friend, see what you think about Paul's directness as he continues his first letter to the Corinthian Believers. "You have doubters and mockers all around you. I know very well how foolish the message of the cross sounds to people who, by their lives, are on the road to destruction. BUT, we who are being saved recognize that the message of the Gospel IS the very power of God. For it is written in Scripture, "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and will bring to nothing the understanding of the prudent."( Isaiah 29:14)Where IS the wise? Where is the scribe? Where is the disputed of this world? Hasn't GOD shown that the so called "wisdom" of this world is foolish? WE realize that the world calls our preaching "foolishness." The world does not realize that by the power of God, preaching brings
salvation."(1Corinthians 1:18-21) How do WE evaluate what we hear? Do we ask: I s the truth and power of God apparent in what is being preached? For "The Gospel IS the power of God unto salvation..."( Romans 1:16)
