After writing to the Galatians In AD 49, Paul wrote 2 letters to the Thessalonians. In our "walk" through the book of Acts, we traced the history of the early church and the missionary journeys of Paul. In chapter 16, Paul and Silas are in the port city of Troas. THEY are considering travelling east to spread the Gospel to Asia Minor (modern day southern Turkey). Suddenly, a VISION comes to them in the night from God. A "...man of Macedonia appeared to them saying, 'Come over to Macedonia and help us.' " What did they do? "IMMEDIATELY we sought to GO to Macedonia, believing that the LORD had surely called us to preach the Gospel there." Says Acts 16:10. Wow, my "walking with Jesus" friend. Isn't THAT impressive! IMMEDIATELY they sought to obey the LORD. Right away, they followed the instructions of the LORD. No hesitation. No argument. No saying: 'but Lord...' So, they went to
Macedonia, sailed into the port of Thessalonica, traveled to Phillipi and Berea; and, through their obedience to God gave, the Lord greatly blessed their Gospel preaching with many new believers, healings and miracles. Do WE listen for and IMMEDIATELY follow the instructions God gives?
