To get the attention of someone, do you sometimes have to be very direct? I think so, my " walking with Jesus" friend. And obviously Paul thought so. Here is how he continues his letter to the Galatians:"O foolish Galatians! Who has hypnotized you and cast an evil spell upon you? You used to see clearly the meaning of the death of Jesus Christ. Look, let me ask you this one question: Did you receive the Holy Spirit by trying to keep the Jewish religious laws? Of course NOT. The Holy Spirit came upon you after you heard about Christ and trusted him to save you. But now, listen, have you gone completely crazy? Don't you realize that, since trying to obey the Jewish laws NEVER gave you Spiritual life in the first place, WHY do you now choose to think that going backwards into the law again is the way to go? That makes no sense. I know that you have gone through a lot to have accepted
Christ as your Savior. Are you throwing all that away to go back to the old, unsatisfying way of the law?"( Galatians 3:1-4) Are WE careful in OUR thinking, to keep clear about the Gospel, and NOT be led astray by old beliefs that failed to give us peace? In this Christmas season, let us rejoice to remember that Jesus Christ IS "The Prince of Peace."(Isaiah 9:6)
