Writing to a person dear to us, how do we usually begin? Yes, my "walking with Jesus" friend, we usually begin by expressing positive desires for our friend, such as: I hope you are keeping well and safe. Writing to his friends the Galatian Christians, what did Paul most greatly desire for them? Chapter 1, verse 3 says: "Grace <which is unmerited/ unearned favor > be to you, and Peace <what is the great as, most reliable source of Peace? > Peace from God the Father and from our Lord Jesus Christ, Who gave himself for our sins, so that he might rescue us from this present evil world, according to the will of God our Father: to whom be glory for ever and ever, Amen." Rescued from this present, evil world, not by being physically removed from it, but by coming to BELIEVE in Jesus Christ who paid for our sins with his substitutionary death on the cross, and was raised to life again by the POWER of God. How marvellous that Paul desires for the Galatians, the GRACE, the unmerited favor, of God. And Peace. Do WE desire Grace and Peace from God for each other?
