Yes, my "walking with Jesus" friend, by now you and I know that being beaten and jailed did not/could NOT stop Paul and Silas from preaching and teaching about The love of God in Jesus Christ, His Son. So, you guessed it, after a final time of fellowship with the believers in Philippi, they travelled on, going through Amphipolis and Appollonia til they came to the coastal city of Thessalonika where there was a Jewish synagogue. Paul's strategy was to preach Christ in the local synagogue. Three weeks in a row, on the Sabbath, he opened the scriptures to them. He explained the prophecies that a messiah/ a Savior would be sent by God. He told how that Jesus perfectly fulfilled each one of the prophesies in his miraculous birth, his teachings and miracles, his death and resurrection. Many who listened Believed, including a large number of god-fearing Greek men and many important women of
the city. Paul's preaching must have been powerful. And that was great for the spread of the Gospel! But, you guessed it, some of the Jewish leaders felt displaced/upstaged. (Acts 17:1-5) What do you think they did?
