Yes! Philip climbed up into the chariot with the Ethiopian! (How about THAT for an exciting turn of events, my "walking with Jesus" friend?) The Ethiopian said: I read Isaiah 53:7-8,"He was oppressed and treated harshly, but he never said a word! He was led as a lamb to the slaughter. And as a sheep before the shearers is silent, he did not open his mouth. From prison and trial, they led him away to his death, but who among the people realized that he was dying for THEIR sins---that he was suffering to pay the price for THEIR wrongs?" Who is Isaiah talking about, himself or about someone else? Asked the Ethiopian. Philip began with that scripture and taught him about Jesus: his perfect life, his teachings, his willingness to give his life as payment for our sins, his betrayal, the mock trial and crucifixion; then his glorious resurrection. To all who accept that Jesus is the Son of
God, repent of their sin, believe He died to pay for their sin, and by his resurrection from the dead, he broke the power of sin and death. God gives salvation through faith by His Grace, explained Philip.
