How can we expect the blessings of Heaven upon our army, he reasoned, IF WE OFFEND the God of Heaven by our conduct? A man who swears and uses profane language is actually a traitor to the American cause, cutting off the aid of Heaven to the cause of freedom. Punctual attendance at Divine Service, to seek the blessings of Heaven upon our efforts to defend our homes and
secure our freedom is expected, General Washington told his troops. Could WE learn from the General's requirements? "Blessed IS the nation whose God is the LORD..."(Psalm 33:12)
