Our sandals are getting a workout as we walk throughout the province of Galilee, North of Jerusalem, my "walking with Jesus" friend. And the Pharisees are upset. The teachings of Jesus take away their authoritative grip on people, pointing them to a personal relationship with God through obedience to His Spirit, rather than compliance with temple rules. "Love the Lord your God with all your heart, soul, mind and strength, this is the greatest commandment," Jesus said, "And the second greatest is like it: Love your neighbor as yourself. On THESE two commandments hang all the law and the prophets "(Mark 12:30-31) Well, the Pharisees (fancy religious leaders) had no "come back" to THAT! Are WE "plugged into those two commandnents? Do those two commandments from the Son of God direct our decisions, our doings, our daily lives? Jesus asks us to apply those two commandments to our lives."He
who HAS my Commandments and KEEPS them, shows Me that he loves Me: and those who love Me, will be loved by My Father, and I will love them and manifest Myself to them/be with them in strength."(John 14:21) What a powerful promise!
