"Uneasy lies the head that wears a crown," is a line from the Henry IV play by English playwriter William Shakespear. It comes to mind as we see the reaction of King Herod to the question he was asked by the "wise men from the east:" Where is he who is born King of the Jews? for we have seen HIS STAR in the east and are come to worship him."(Matthew 2: King Herod felt uneasy/"was troubled," when "wise men from the east" asked him:" Where is he who has been born King of the Jews?"(Matthew 2:1-3) Herod was not Jewish. So he knew nothing about the prophecies that a Messiah/Christ, would come. No doubt he was in a panic. "He gathered all the chief priests and scribes of the people and demanded that they tell him what had been said, and where this Christ was going to be born. "The prophets have told us: in Bethlehem of Judaea," they reported.Privately Herod asked when the star had appeared.
Then told the wise men, search for the child. Then come back and tell me where you find him so I may go and worship him also."(Matthew 2:7-8) Did Herod really want to worship a new king?
