I think, my "walking with Jesus" friend, that we would agree: Being criticized is never comfortable. What we do with criticism shows the level of maturity of our character. Mature character does not get defensive, instead, it looks at the criticism and wisely asks: Is there any truth to the allegation? Is there something I need to correct? What is there of value to be learned by objective consideration of what has been said? Do you think there is ANY chance that any of the Pharisees were able to be that mature in dealing with the heavy...and thoroughly justified... criticisms Jesus brought against them? He was not being mean. He was trying to wake them up...to steer them away from their wrong thinking...to cause them to correct their ways.
